Scalp Micro-Pigmentation (SMP) is a permanent, non-surgical, non-invasive, affordable cosmetic hair tattoo procedure that uses precise micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp.
Scalp micro-pigmentation can reduce the appearance of hair loss, thinning hair, receding hairline, failed hair transplants, transplant scars, bald spots, or alopecia.
Scalp Micro-pigmentation (SMP) is a form of permanent cosmetics, not a traditional tattoo or permanent makeup.
Scalp Micro-pigmentation replicates the look of the hair follicle by using pointillism techniques. We use equipment different from traditional tattooing, ensuring the ink, needle, and machine are specifically for scalp micro-pigmentation.
Three main differences between SMP and Tattoos:
- We deposit pigment into the skin at a more superficial depth than tattoos, only about 2mm into the dermis.
- Using the pointillism method, we strictly make small micro dots, not shading or drawing lines.
- We use only a BLENDZ black pigment, which is more diluted than typical tattoo inks. For this reason, it won’t break down into different colors or look too saturated once healed.
Our procedure price guide depends on the level of hair loss, which varies for each client.
Typically, the price ranges between $1,000 and $5,000. We recommend a free consultation so our artists can evaluate your case and provide a personalized price quote based on your hair loss needs.
Scalp Micro-pigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics or permanent makeup. Artists often consider this procedure to be a cosmetic hair or scalp tattoo.
After completing your procedure (2-3 sessions), a client should expect the strength of the color to last for 2-4 years. Over a longer term, you will gradually notice slight lightening (not discolor) of the ink/pressions.
When this occurs, you can undergo a brief “touch-up” session to restore any fading and secure many more years of your look and confidence.
The Scalp micro-pigmentation procedure generally takes 2-4 hours per session, depending on your level of hair loss.
Remember, scalp micro-pigmentation should never be considered a one-session process.
